Maurice Harnsberry – I’m a huge Miguel fan but had never seen him live, so I jumped at the chance to shoot his recent show in Seattle. The show opened with the crowd matching the mellow vibe of the L.A.-based singer and producer’s music, but got a bit more active when the performance peaked on songs like “Skywalker” and “How Many Drinks.”
Maurice Harnsberry – I set out to photograph G-Eazy’s recent performance at the Showare Center near Seattle with a bit of skepticism. I’m not what you’d call a “big fan,” but so many of my friends are, so I decided to see if a live performance would win me over. And it worked.
Travis Trautt – I’d heard a couple of songs from heralded UK post-punk band Shame and was intrigued, so when I heard they were playing Barboza with support from Seattle’s great Monsterwatch (#41for2017). I had to get myself out on a Tuesday night.
Casey Brevig – Illinois-born singer, songwriter, rapper and musician K. Flay (Kristine Meredith Flaherty) stopped by the Showbox in Seattle last month as part of her Every Where Is Some Where Tour Pt. 1. After openers Sir Sly warmed up their crowd with their SoCal Indie Rock, Flay performed a mix of songs from her two studio albums, Life as a Dog (2014) and Everywhere Is Somewhere (2017).
Andy Perkovich – Starting this evening of music at Seattle’s Chop Suey was Second Still, a 3 piece band originally hailing from Brooklyn that now resides in Los Angeles. The group combines beautiful vocals, pounding 80’s synth beats, steady bass, and a reverb soaked guitar to take it’s listener on a dark and dreamy ride.
