Eric Tra – Los Angeles based garage-psych rock trio, L.A. Witch, returned to Seattle this month for a near sold out show at the Crocodile opening for Vancouver, B.C.’s epic psych rock band Black Mountain.
Andy Bookwalter – The tap tap tap on the window came seconds after I parked Camper Van Bookwalter on a lonely road in “uptown Port Townsend” on Friday, Aug. 23. This wasn’t surprising; the locals seemed a little uneasy about the flood of tourists descending on their blue collar, totally unpretentious, non-touristy town.
Rachel Bennett – If you scroll through the Facebook event of a sold-out show and see the comments of many people searching for tickets, it can inspire hope for the tenacity of the rock n’ roll music industry. While it sucks for the poor souls who waited too long to snag a ticket, it’s a positive indication that the band is doing well, and that they will have the money/support to tour again in the future.
Maurice Harnsberry – oey BadAss, Flatbush Zombies and friends traveled to Seattle for their first stop of the Beast Coast tour and did not disappoint. These guys were literally flying in the air (sorry I couldn’t capture that shot 😔) as they engaged the crowd, which was fully energized.
Aarin Wright – It’s 9:50 p.m. on a Thursday evening and the air smells only of sweat. Standing directly in front of The Crocodile’s stage among a sold out crowd in the peak of summer has led to the aromatic situation. There is no noticeable AC. People are downing beers for hydration and fanning their faces with recently purchased LPs.
